What Customers Say

If you're looking for high-end bathroom remodeling in Arlington, don't waste your time with the big box companies. We live over in Euless, right by the Texas Star Golf Course, and it took us forever to find someone who actually understood the technical requirements for a residential steamer. Unlike other Arlington contractors who never call back or seem confused by the plumbing needs of a steam unit, Cristian from Southern Home Remodeling was an absolute pro. He walked us through the entire specialized waterproofing membrane process to ensure our studs would stay dry, which was my biggest concern. The installation of the frameless glass enclosure was precise—it has to be perfect to keep that steam in, and the fit and finish are flawless. They even helped us pick a stone tile that wouldn't get too slippery when wet. It’s rare to find a team that handles both the heavy-duty construction and the aesthetic details so well. The communication was great throughout, which is a miracle in the DFW contracting world. I’ve attached a few photos of the steam shower and the control panel so you can see the quality of Cristian's work.

* Failed to obtain required plumbing permits before performing work, which is a serious city/ state violation, tho they falsely said they did. * They had to return several times over less than a year’s time to fix things that continued to break due to improper install, including plumbing fixtures, the tub itself detaching from the floor, and glass for the shower. They also came to install several things that they did a poor job and instead of saying they needed to redo it tried to pass off as acceptable. For instance, cracking the tile in the shower to drill holes for the glass hinges. This happened over a handful of times. * I later discovered the plumbing permit had expired, after I forced them to get it as required, because they never got the final inspection it as they claimed. Once I brought this up they later said they extended it. Upon calling the city they had not paid for it as they said, forcing me to pay to extend it myself. * I discovered they never got a building permit, which is required for the drywall work they did. They said they did not need it and do work all the time without it, the city said that it is 100% required. SH tried to force me to pay to remedy the issue with architectural drawings despite that only being required since the work had been done, had they gotten the permit originally it would not be needed. * Multiple inspections failed due to workmanship issues. * I repeatedly had to coordinate with the City of Fort Worth myself to determine what permits and inspections were actually required. * Charged me for paint that I had purchased and supplied myself. They later admitted the mistake by text but refused reimbursement. * Billed me for liability insurance but would not provide proof until after my attorney sent a demand letter. * Despite acknowledging the insurance request, they refused to reimburse costs they caused, including the permit extension they said they paid for and never did or the paint they admitted to incorrectly charging me for and said they would credit me for. * Communication was consistently poor, requiring repeated follow-ups just to schedule repairs or receive updates. * What should have been a straightforward remodel turned into over a year of unnecessary stress, delays, inspections, and legal involvement. * Lied repeatedly in text, which I repeatedly had to screenshot and send them their conflicting messages. I cannot recommend Southern Home Remodeling based on my experience. In fact, I recommend avoiding them. Neither Jon or Cristian do the work themselves and take the word of subcontractors who do subpar work. Picture included is how they waterproofed the tub faucet originally, as one example of how they will leave things when “complete”. You can clearly see a ziploc bag inside as well as moisture that was getting under the cover.

Chris and his entire crew at Southern Home Remodeling are my go to for home repairs and remodels. They repaired the soffits and fascia on my home, removed decorative exterior beams and replaced them with bricks, painted the exterior and installed a new gutter system. We had a vent installed as well, and my wife and I could not be happier. Whenever we work with them, everything goes so smoothly. The work is always done well, and in a timely manner. Any issues are resolved quickly and they are always ready to answer any questions that arise. I highly recommend!

Love My New Kitchen! So when I started planning for this project, the goal was saving money and getting a good quality job done. After 2 yrs of saving and planning, I called a contractor to get the ball rolling. The person recommended to me seemed okay but after 3 weeks and no communication, I decided to go a different direction. I googled my request and Southern Home Remodeling came up on top. I called and spoke with John. I was concerned that it may have been too small of a job for an established company to accept. John was the best. He came and took pictures and got me a quote within a day. They showed up on time and were organized and efficient. John & Cristian were both on the job the first day. They walked us through the process and stayed on top of the whole project. The guys that came out to do the work were professional and experienced. The organization of the process impressed us tremendously. Instead of chaos and multiple people in at one time, they followed a plan of each part being done and then bringing in the next professionals to continue. It worked great for our schedule and didn't wear into the whole day. The results are amazing. New countertops and backsplash. New sink and faucet. The entire project turned out great. I cant recommend Southern Home Remodeling enough. Attention to detail. Great communication, Fair prices and Quality Work not found in a lot of Construction companies. Future projects in planning. Will definitely call these guys again. Thanks John and Cristian!

Christian was a pleasure to work with and exceeded my expectations throughout the project. He is highly responsive, insightful, and always takes the time to clarify, explain, and elaborate on details to ensure everything is understood. His professionalism, communication, and expertise made the entire process smooth and efficient. I was very impressed with the quality of his work and the thoughtful guidance he provided along the way. I highly recommend Christian to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and reliable contractor.
