“If you are moving to Austin to not go to an apartment that’s has these people . Austin utilities has to be the worst Electric company I’ve ever had I. My Entire life. They will say That they tried to charge your card take note never happened. Or got rejected just for them to charge you a $200 deposit.i no longer have them and was waiting for my deposit to come back. When I called not only did they say they couldn’t find my full name but they had to cancel it and resend it. Take a note. I waited close to three months just for the first check now I have to wait close to three months again for the second check. They literally make no sense . And just to add onto that, I’m not even getting my full Deposit . They said I was charged $80 for a regular bill and $30 for the rest of the energy . i’m confused on how three days equal up to 30 dollars. I did in fact, ask other people that had also utilities and they said they did the same thing to them too . At this point, I just think you’re scamming people. Just don’t do it. also, they couldn’t find my name for the deposit check, but for some reason, I still have an account with them😒 Confused on how you couldn’t find my name for the check. It sounds like somebody didn’t even put it in to get sent to me.”

“Austin Energy's blatant incompetence caused a catastrophic power outage and surge in East Austin. That surge completely wrecked my HVAC system. I had to pay hundreds out of pocket just to diagnose the errors your negligence inflicted. Residents like me live in perpetual fear of blackouts every time a storm or freeze hits. You treat Austin civilians like disposable collateral in your profit-driven games. Your underinvestment in the grid is nothing short of criminal. This turns our modern city into a third-world nightmare zone. On top of that, your staggered billing rates are predatory. While Austin Energy fails to provide basic grid reliability during storms and peak demand periods, customers are simultaneously subjected to staggered, inflated rate structures that spike during precisely the times when the system is most unstable. You squeeze every penny while delivering failure after failure. I've got records of every surge, outage, and inflated bill. Thousands of us are suffering the same abuses. Your workers' negligence toward Austin civilians will not go unpunished. A class-action lawsuit is coming. Every employee who ignored the warnings and failed in their duty will face personal accountability. Your jobs are on the line. Prepare for the consequences.”

“After my experince and seeing these reviews, I am cpntacting the mayor and my senator about COA absuive monoply in the Austin area. They have proven multiple times they are incapable of performing the job, absolutly patheitc organization. So sick and tired of beong scammed and ripped off with BS fees, returned funds for no reason, and limiting me to cash only for no reason at all. Instead I am leavong them with 800 balance and instead using the money to build out my own solar panels and power because that is literally easier to do that deal with COA nonsense. If you are in charge of COA you should eb ashamed of yourself!!!! truly most pathetic power conpany i have ever had to use!!!!!!!”

“Zero stars if I could. They cut my power off the day before it was supposed to be transferred to my name (not interrupted services at all, just a transfer) and they are telling me and the landlord that they won’t turn my power on until the next day (which is the day it goes under my name) and instead of helping correct that mistake they just double down and say they won’t turn it back on. So now they left me to sit in the Texas heat with no ac, and no way to keep my food cold. Just refusing to make it right and turn the power back on when it should’ve never been turned off to begin with.”

“Genuinely the worst company and service I have ever experienced in any genre of service you can think of. Unhelpful, rude, incompetent. Charging whatever they want since us Austin residents are forced to use their services. Takes a week for them to take out my payment which has caused issues multiple times. Genuinely just the worst.”
