“This is my favorite place to enjoy a day off, just relaxing under the trees and walking through the different sections. It’s so peaceful. The staff here is always so kind as well. I especially love wandering through the Japanese garden area with the waterfall features, water lilies and koi pond! And whenever the fairy trail is up it is the cutest thing to see all the creativity everyone has with it. Absolutely love this place!! It’s not the biggest botanical garden out there but it is still so lovely!!”

“This is such a beautiful place to visit. There is so much to see and enjoy. I especially loved how lush, peaceful, and green the gardens were. One of my favorite parts was watching the different fish swimming in the ponds. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience.”

“This garden is wonderful and exceptionally well-maintained. The scavenger hunt was a highlight, and every section has its own unique charm. Pro tip: Use the map! It’s excellent and helped us navigate everything in sequence so we didn't miss a thing. We loved seeing the koi pond, the large turtle, and the various reptiles. Regarding bugs: bring repellent just in case, though it wasn't strictly necessary for us. We saw some bees, but they were harmless if left alone. We finished in about 45 minutes because we had a flight to catch, but I highly recommend bringing extra time. To truly "smell the flowers," you need to slow down and enjoy the experience rather than rushing through it.”

“We went on a Friday and the ticket prices are so cheap for such a cute outdoor experience. The garden had bathrooms and a gift shop and they had maps so you could find your way down the paths through different themes in the garden. We saw mockingbirds, hummingbirds, butterflies, koi fishes and lizards. The flowers were so beautiful as well. I’d definitely recommend anyone to go, it was a nice nature outing”

“Pros: several interesting gardens in one, lots of benches, plentiful flowers and wildlife, nice gift shop Cons: very little parking, you'll probably have to park far away and walk, guests can be rude and staff won't do anything about it Even if you get here only 1hr after they open you will not be able to find parking. They'll tell you there's plenty of parking in the surrounding Zilker Park area, which is true, but you will have quite a walk, on top of all the walking you'll be doing in the garden(s) itself. While I really loved the gardens themselves, it was really crowded, and many of the visitors were loud and obnoxious. There were several people blocking paths doing amateur photo shoots, a group of people scoping out the gardens for a potential photo shoot location (who kept getting in the way of other groups), lots of people blocking paths with their oversized strollers, and at one point a guy just plopped down and started blaring super loud Tajano music in the middle of the Japanese garden for at least 10min, completely ruining the peaceful experience. I understand wanting to be welcoming, but the garden could use some rules to prevent some guests from ruining the experience for others. If you can put up with it though, you'll get to see a colorful variety of butterflies, their Big Chungus squirrels, and you may even get to see real live wild hummingbirds. Overall, I do recommend coming here once, but experience with fellow visitors left me not wanting to come back.”
