“In August 2025, I paid $36,000 for two top-of-the-line Trane AC units from Lex Air. It included a 10-year warranty. It included a 2 year labor warranty. The first two semi-annual services were supposed to be free. For that reason, I wasn’t going to join Cool Club until August, 2026. Our downstairs unit failed with a critical error at about 11:54 pm on Friday, June 26. On Saturday morning, I called to schedule an emergency repair. Their stupid AI Sal answered and before he would try to schedule me an emergency repair, he asked if I was a member of Cool Club. Since I wasn’t, the first repair option was Monday, June 29. On June 29, I joined Cool Club, which meant that I paid for about 2 months of a service I shouldn’t need. On June 29, the technician showed up at about 10 am. At about 1 pm, he diagnosed that the control board needed to be replaced, but he could not order the part without a second technician coming out and confirming the diagnosis. The second technician didn’t show up until about 5:30 pm, which meant that even if he agreed with the diagnosis, the part wouldn’t be ordered until Tuesday morning because for some reason, Lex Air technicians can’t order a part after 5 pm. My wife took Tuesday off from work so that she would be there when the part arrived. We called Lex and were told that the part wouldn’t arrive Tuesday, hopefully on Wednesday. My wife took Wednesday off from work, but when we called Wednesday, we were told the part was ordered with three-day shipping and wouldn’t arrive until Monday because Friday was a holiday. They never offered me the opportunity to pay for expedited shipping so that the part could be there Wednesday or Thursday. After paying $36,000 for two units, we were going to have to go 10 days (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) without air conditioning. We found out Monday morning that the part was scheduled to arrive between noon and 2 pm. The technician would pick up the part when it arrived and come out. At 7:31 pm, they called and said that my technician was stuck at another home and wanted to know if it was OK if we were the first scheduled service on Tuesday, sometime between 8 and 10 am. My wife had to take another day off because I’m in the middle of training and can’t be out. They got it running Tuesday evening and had to come back out Wednesday to re-run some cabling. Finally, I have left 2 separate requests for a service manager to call me. No call.”
