“Stay away from this company. I do have Home warranty with American Home Shield. They hire these people they came to my house and they said I need to pay over $1000 plus top of their money warranty companies paying forget about this, I called them a few times to get more information about the water heater we have in the house this guy who’s answering the phone very disrespectful. Very mean told me on the phone shut up what kind of customer service they running and what kind of business these people running stay away from this company even you have warranty company as soon as you hear this company name try to run away worst experience ever I have in my whole life take your business to another company and run away”
“*AVOID* Cost me thousands of dollars because they did not want to do the job assigned by my home warranty company, American Home Shield. MacLin Plumbing CO. was assigned to my service ticket regarding my leaking hot water tank. As many Texas residents, my gas water tank is in the attic. When MacLin came to look at the tank, they told me that due to Texas regulations, they needed 25 in. clearance to get the new tank up in the attic, my clearance was only around 24 in., so I would need to provide the clearance in order for them to complete the job. They told me they do not provide access and my only other option would be a tankless water heater, which would not be covered by the warranty and cost thousands more. As a first time home owner that knows nothing about this stuff, I trusted that the plumber would have the experience with attic tanks to advise me honestly on my options. When I proposed if I could remove the attic stairs myself, which would give the necessary 25" clearance, he refused, and said it would not be safe for his men. Foolishly, I took his word that this was my only option, and agreed to their service provided I gave them 25" access. After consulting multiple people, and two plumbing companies about this, I not only realized it would be structurally impossible to carve out the clearance MacLin supposedly needed to complete the job, but also both plumbers told me their team would simply remove the pieces of wood trim to give enough clearance to complete the job. I was pressured to sign the service contract on the spot, then after getting my second opinions, AHS refused to allow me to reassign a new plumber to the service ticket, my only option was a cash out for far less than it would now cost me to replace out of pocket. A neighbor recommended Proven Plumbing. I called at 8:30am on a Friday, they showed up within an hour, & returned to do the job on Monday. They had NO problem cutting the wood trim to make enough clearance for the tank, even replacing it after the job was completed. I HIGHLY recommend using Proven Pluming for your water heater needs, especially if it is in the attic.”
“I just had a simple service from them through my home insurance company. My plumber, Jerry Hamlin was early, quick, quiet, clean and considerate to wear shoe covers and not mess up my floors. He was also kind enough to give me some advice for future repairs. Never had a bad experience with this company!”
“My warranty company sent MacLin Plumbing to address an issue with my water heater. Matt from MacLin Plumbing arrived the next day, right on time. He was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. He replaced a part on one water heater and adjusted the connections on the second one. Matt also provided helpful advice on what to look for in the future. Overall, it was a five-star service!”
“A plumber came to my home WED, saw the drywall damage in the ceiling that’s coming from the upstairs bath; plumber goes upstairs to the bath, sees a saturated bath mat, tells me it’s a sloppy shower and leaves. He doesn’t even cut into the drywall to see if there is the possibility of a plumbing leak. THURS I pay to get the drywall cut out and mold is discovered - too much mold to be caused by a ‘sloppy shower.’ This has been growing over time and we’ve only been in this home 4 weeks. Contractor says he has never met a plumber that didn’t cut drywall to see what’s going on behind it. Today/FRI, I called my home warranty company (AHS) to find out the status of Maclin coming back and finding the leak only to discover Maclin has cancelled the follow up service call. I’m so frustrated I don’t want another Maclin employee in my home. AHS has found a different plumbing company for me.🤞”
